CitizenCon 2954 arrives in Manchester, uniting fans and developers of Star Citizen and Squadron 42 for two immersive days. This year’s event promises deeper insight into Cloud Imperium Games' (CIG) ambitious universe, with developer panels, live demonstrations, and community gatherings. Attendees are welcomed to Manchester Central on Oct. 19-20, with nearly 5,000 fans exploring halls inspired by the United Earth Empire Navy’s Bengal Carrier, a beloved community symbol. Fans worldwide can also follow the excitement through live streams on Star Citizen’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
Bringing CitizenCon to Manchester, home to a CIG development office, offers a special reunion for the fan community. CIG’s Chairman Chris Roberts expressed excitement about meeting supporters and sharing game advancements. Key exhibits include a massive model of the Hornet F7C for photo ops, developer panels, and sneak peeks into the future of Star Citizen.
Day one’s panels kick off with a look at StarEngine’s new Genesis technology for creating expansive game worlds. Other presentations explore social tools for connecting players, character customization, and new locations beyond Stanton and Pyro. The day concludes with a mystery reveal, adding to the excitement of CitizenCon.
Day two dives into the future of Star Citizen gameplay with panels like “Crafting Your Home,” focusing on resource interaction, and “Captains of Industry,” showcasing new fleet ships. The day ends with “The Stars Are My Destination: Star Citizen 1.0,” led by Senior Game Director Rich Tyrer, revealing plans for a full-scale MMO experience.
CitizenCon will conclude with ENTER ATMOSPHERE 2954, hosted by ATMO Esports. Fans will experience ship races, a Fight or Flight Championship, and panel discussions with CIG guests. This year’s CitizenCon represents not just a celebration but an expansion of the Star Citizen universe.
