Breitling has announced that Oscar-nominated actor Austin Butler is its new brand ambassador and the face of the Top Time B31 collection. This partnership introduces the Caliber B31, Breitling's first three-hand manufacture movement.
Austin Butler, known for his roles in "Elvis," "Dune 2," and "The Bikeriders," embodies a sense of adventure and style that aligns with Breitling's image. His passion for motorcycles, fast cars, and vintage fashion reflects the spirit of the Top Time collection. Butler expressed his enthusiasm, stating that Breitling represents adventure and pushing boundaries, resonating with his lifestyle.
The Top Time B31 marks a departure from Breitling's traditional chronographs, presenting a time-only series with a classic 38mm stainless steel case. This design balances heritage proportions with modern aesthetics, making it suitable for various wrist sizes and occasions. The watch is available in three dial color combinations: blue with a white inner ring, green with a black inner ring, and white with a sky-blue inner ring. Each features applied indexes, a magnified date aperture, and a bright orange seconds hand for a distinctive look.
The Caliber B31 is Breitling's first in-house three-hand movement, developed over four years. Measuring 28.4mm in diameter and 4.8mm in thickness, it offers a power reserve of approximately 78 hours. The movement includes a free-sprung balance wheel for enhanced precision and is COSC-certified, ensuring exceptional accuracy. Visible through the watch's transparent case back, the movement showcases Geneva stripes and perlage finishes, reflecting Breitling's commitment to craftsmanship.
The Top Time B31's 38mm stainless steel case is complemented by a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, enhancing legibility. The watch offers water resistance up to 100 meters, ensuring durability for everyday wear. Strap options include a perforated leather strap with contrasting stitching, inspired by the collection's racing heritage, or a three-row stainless-steel bracelet with an asymmetrical center link, adding a sporty touch.
The Breitling Top Time B31 is available at selected retailers and Breitling boutiques worldwide. Pricing starts at $5,600 for models with a calfskin strap and $5,900 for those with a stainless steel bracelet. This collection offers enthusiasts a blend of vintage-inspired design and modern watchmaking technology.
