In the ever-evolving world of horology, Omega and Swatch have once again collaborated to introduce a stunning timepiece. The "Omega x Swatch Mission to the Super Blue Moonphase" will be available for a limited time next month, offering watch enthusiasts a blend of elegance and innovative technology.
This new model features a moonphase display at 2 o'clock. Unlike the previous design which featured a Snoopy illustration, this version boasts a multi-shade depiction of the Moon in UV ink, creating a more traditional yet modern look. The blue hues celebrate the full blue moon on August 19th, 2024.
The watch features a light blue Bioceramic case, crafted from two-thirds ceramic and one-third bio-sourced material from castor oil. This material choice not only adds to the watch's durability but also aligns with contemporary environmental standards.
The silver-opaline dial with contrasting blue subdials gives the watch a desirable "panda" look. The Super-LumiNova hour indices pop against a darker blue outer track, while the white minute scale adds even more contrast, making it visually striking.
One of the standout features is the white pulsometer scale, which replaces the traditional tachymeter scale found on other MoonSwatch models. This scale, used to measure a patient’s pulse, adds a vintage touch to the modern design. Additionally, the back of the watch features a depiction of the full blue moon on the battery cover, along with the "Mission to the Moon" text.
The "Omega x Swatch Mission to the Super Blue Moonphase" will be available from August 1st through August 19th, coinciding with the full moon dates. It will be sold only during "blue hours" from 5 PM onwards, and exclusively in select Swatch boutiques. For those planning to visit popular locations like Ko Pha Ngan for Full Moon Parties, consider checking out the Swatch boutiques at nearby airports.
This timepiece, with its innovative features and elegant design, is sure to be a coveted item for collectors and watch enthusiasts alike.
