Parmigiani Fleurier’s Toric was the first wristwatch designed by Michel Parmigiani, introduced in 1996. Known for its meticulous craftsmanship and aesthetic balance inspired by the golden ratio, the Toric series includes some of the brand's most prestigious complications. At Watches and Wonders 2024, Parmigiani Fleurier presents two new models: the Toric Petite Seconde and the limited-edition Toric Chronograph Rattrapante.
The new Toric models redefine the men's dress watch, featuring slim platinum 950 and pink gold cases, and stunning 18-carat gold movements. These manually wound calibers showcase top-notch finishing quality. The Toric Petite Seconde, with its 40.6mm diameter and 8.8mm height, is water-resistant to 50 meters. It comes in two variants: a platinum case with an almond-green dial and a pink-gold case with a sandy-gold dial, both adorned with a special graining technique.
Inspired by 1960s vintage aesthetics, the Toric dials are beveled, not uniformly flat. This unique feature creates a height difference, enhancing the visual appeal. The graining technique applied to the dials involves a mixture of cream of tartar, crushed sea salt, and silver, polished to create a soft and regular surface. This backdrop enhances the short-hour markers and matching case material hands.
The Toric Petite Seconde is powered by a newly developed movement with a 60-hour power reserve and a 4Hz operating frequency. The movement features three large surfaces in 18-carat rose gold, decorated with Côtes de Fleurier, with visible barrels and a regulating organ. This mechanical beauty offers both performance and elegance.
The Toric Petite Seconde in pink gold retails for CHF 49,500, while the platinum version is priced at CHF 56,500. These prices reflect the exceptional craftsmanship and luxurious materials used in these masterpieces.
