As temperatures rise in the heart of Dubai, the city is flipping the script with a fresh, icy twist on fitness. This summer, Dubai is set to host its very first Snow Duathlon a multisport event that promises adrenaline, endurance, and sub-zero thrills, all under one snowy roof.
Unlike traditional outdoor races under the blazing sun, this event takes place inside Ski Dubai at a chilling -4°C. The Snow Duathlon brings together two main activities: a 5 km ride on a stationary bike followed by a run of either 3 km (three loops) or 5 km (five loops). This format is inspired by winter endurance events, giving participants a rare chance to push their limits in the snow without leaving the desert.
The race welcomes individuals aged 13 to 60, whether solo or in teams of two. It’s designed to be inclusive and exciting, offering an accessible yet challenging experience for seasoned athletes and fitness newcomers alike. Each participant gets a commemorative medal, and the top three in each category earn podium recognition and exclusive prizes.
Exercising in low temperatures has its perks. It reduces overheating, lowers heart rate stress, and makes high-intensity workouts more bearable. The Snow Duathlon capitalizes on this by offering a performance boost in a controlled, snowy setting all while adding the novelty of a winter sport in the middle of summer.
Entry to the Snow Duathlon is priced at AED 189, which includes race access, medal, and the full indoor snow experience. Participants can register directly through the official platform shared by Dubai Fitness Council and CRANK Dubai Fitness Studio.
For those who prefer water over snow, Dubai also offers a long list of nighttime swimming experiences. Popular spots like Cloud 22 at Atlantis The Royal or the vibrant Barasti Beach Bar give fitness lovers stylish alternatives to stay cool after dark.
