Fans across the UAE saw football history in person as the Manchester City CHAMPIONS 4-IN-A-ROW Trophy Tour visited the Emirates.
The 2023/24 season was another historic one for the Club as they became the first men’s side ever to win the English top-flight title for four years consecutively, and to celebrate this success the Premier League, FIFA Club World Cup, and Community Shield trophies were brought over to local fans in the UAE.
Along with the trophies, young first-team star Oscar Bobb, club legend Nedum Onuoha, and YouTuber and influencer FG were also in Abu Dhabi to meet and greet fans.
One of the highlights of the trip was a special Q&A session, which the three took part in immediately before an exclusive screening of City’s dramatic 2-1 win over Wolves, hosted at Zayed Sports City.
While at Zayed Sports City, the trophies were also displayed at the Manchester City Abu Dhabi League - with more than 190 teams and 2,500 players along with their coaches, and families having the opportunity to have their pictures taken with the stunning silverware.
Elsewhere on the tour, hundreds of young players from City Football Schools were at Active Al Maryah Island. During the trip, there were also visits to CFS sessions in both Dubai and Ajman, along with Aldar Education’s Kent College in Dubai and Yas American Academy in Abu Dhabi.
Bobb, Onuoha, and FG also took the trophies to City Challenge in Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi – a unique football experience for all fans of the game, which also houses the UAE’s only official Manchester City store.
Reflecting on his experience in the UAE, Nedum said: “This is my second time visiting Abu Dhabi and it has been an amazing experience. I first visited here as a Manchester City player over a decade ago and it’s incredible to see the growth in our fan base throughout the region.
“During this visit, I’ve seen our City Football Schools, the unique City Challenge experience at Yas Mall, and watched the young players who participate in the Abu Dhabi League every week. It has been a superb experience and I’d like to thank our fans in the UAE for all their support!”
Olivier Turkel, City Football Middle East General Manager, said: “It is wonderful to be able to celebrate the successes of the 2023/24 season with fans in Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE. To see so many people - especially youngsters - come to see the trophies is a testament to our loyal fanbase in the UAE. I am sure there are many who have been inspired by this experience and hopefully they will take that inspiration with them on their own footballing journey.”
