Breitling took another bold step in expanding its iconic Top Time collection, introducing new editions of the Top Time Deus and Top Time Triumph. These highly anticipated models were revealed at the Wheels and Waves festival in Biarritz, France, an event that celebrates the adventurous spirits of surfers, bikers, and free-spirited explorers. The new releases perfectly align with Breitling’s commitment to merging high-performance craftsmanship with a laid-back, sporty aesthetic.
The latest Top Time Deus model, measuring 41mm, featured a monochrome black dial with striking white sub-dials, offering a sleek and daring aesthetic. The watch stood out with bold red accents, particularly the lightning bolt-shaped chronograph hand, a signature element of previous Deus editions. Available with either a black leather strap or a steel mesh bracelet, it provided versatility for different styles.
Designed for those who embrace adventure—motorcycle riders, surfers, and travelers—the Top Time Deus embodied freedom and exploration. The collaboration with Deus Ex Machina, an Australian brand renowned for its custom motorcycles and streetwear, further cemented its appeal to thrill-seekers who appreciate fine craftsmanship.
The Top Time Triumph also retained its 41mm case size but preserved its iconic ice-blue dial, a defining feature of its 2022 predecessor. Displaying both Breitling and Triumph logos at 12 and 6 o’clock, this watch exuded refined minimalism. It came with two strap options—a luxurious leather strap or a stainless steel mesh bracelet—offering wearers a balance between vintage charm and contemporary elegance.
Both models were upgraded with the Breitling B01 chronograph movement, an in-house caliber first introduced in 2009. This mechanism delivered exceptional accuracy and reliability, positioning these watches among the most advanced chronographs in the luxury timepiece industry.
The Top Time collection had an iconic status in pop culture, famously worn by Sean Connery in the 1965 James Bond film Thunderball. This watch was the first in Bond’s arsenal to be modified by Q Branch, equipped with a Geiger counter that helped 007 track down stolen nuclear weapons. After decades, Breitling revived the model in 2020, modernizing its design while preserving its cinematic legacy.
Originally known for its Navitimer pilot watches, Breitling successfully diversified its offerings by introducing collections inspired by motorsports, adventure, and cinema. This strategic shift led to impressive growth, with the brand’s annual revenue reaching £574 million in 2021, reflecting a 55% increase over two years.
Both the Top Time Deus and Top Time Triumph models were priced at £6,250 for the leather strap edition and £6,600 for the stainless steel bracelet, positioning them as luxury timepieces for modern adventurers who appreciate both heritage and innovation.
