Swiss independent watchmaker Schaefer & Companions introduces the Solune Pure, a refined timepiece that transforms traditional watchmaking into wearable art. Combining a compact silhouette, handcrafted lacquer dials, and Swiss mechanical craftsmanship, the new collection appeals to gentlemen who appreciate understated luxury, artistic expression, and exclusive watches.
Schaefer & Companions introduces a more restrained design with the Solune Pure, responding to collectors seeking a smaller, more elegant alternative to the brand's sculptural Solune and Octolune collections.
The new 39mm case shifts attention toward the artistic dial while retaining signature details, including the distinctive crown and caseback. Redesigned lugs and slender hands further enhance its balanced appearance.
Crafted from 316L stainless steel, the case combines polished, brushed, and micro-blasted finishes. Double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective and UV-resistant coatings protects the dial.
The collection debuts in the Grand Art configuration, maximizing the space available for artistic expression. A Médaillon version is also under development for a future release.
The Rizière Collection draws inspiration from the flowing contours of rice terraces, transforming natural landscapes into intricate miniature artworks.
Founder Christophe Schaefer discovered the concept through a photograph of rice fields, interpreting their winding patterns as symbols of time, movement, and human connections.
French artisan Solène Rolland Huckel brings this vision to life using traditional hand-applied lacquer techniques. Each dial undergoes multiple stages of layering, drying, and polishing to create remarkable visual depth.
Delicate decorative lines, painted with a mixture of lacquer and gold powder, add dimension beneath transparent finishing layers.
The collection launches with a rich purple dial featuring flowing golden patterns, while a green edition and additional color variations are planned.
Each handcrafted dial reflects the individuality and craftsmanship that distinguish artistic independent watchmaking.
The Solune Pure combines its artistic exterior with the reliable Peseux 7001 hand-wound mechanical movement, offering a 45-hour power reserve.
Operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, the movement features 17 jewels and traditional decorative finishes, including Geneva stripes and blued screws.
The watch offers water resistance up to 5 ATM and features a strap measuring 20mm at the lugs and tapering to 18mm at the buckle. A black apple-leather strap is among the available specifications.
Schaefer & Companions presented the first assembled Solune Pure Rizière prototype during The HYPE NYC on October 17–18, 2026, giving collectors an early look at the new creation.
Priced at CHF 2,400 before taxes, the watch became available for pre-order on October 17, 2026. Production is strictly limited to eight pieces per color, reinforcing its appeal among collectors seeking distinctive and rare timepieces.
With its artistic dial, refined proportions, and traditional Swiss movement, the Solune Pure demonstrates how independent watchmaking can transform a simple timepiece into an expression of personal style and craftsmanship.
