Brass Monkey Hospitality will expand into the Motor City Clubhouse later this year with the opening of a new Brass Monkey venue and the launch of Hey Tiger, a bold new modern Asian social house from the group.
Set to open in late summer, the new venue marks the next stage in the evolution of the homegrown hospitality company, bringing together dining, entertainment and social experiences within one destination while introducing an entirely new concept to the portfolio.
The ground floor will introduce the latest Brass Monkey venue, bringing together the brand’s signature mix of food, drinks, bowling, games and music within a lively, entertainment-driven setting.
Located on the upper floor, Hey Tiger brings a distinctly different energy to the location. Built around open-kitchen dining, music-led atmosphere and shared dining experiences, the concept draws inspiration from Japan, Korea, China and across Asia in a way that feels confident, modern and unapologetically social.
Following the summer months, the venue’s outdoor terrace will come into its own, offering a large open-air space designed around late-night dining, cocktails and open-air socialising.
The menu moves between robata grill, sushi, sashimi, maki, wok-fired dishes, dim sum and Korean barbecue. Open flames, cold drinks and music carry the room from sunset into the night.
“Motor City gives us the opportunity to bring the next evolution of Brass Monkey into a neighbourhood setting while introducing Hey Tiger to a completely new audience,” said Simon Robinson, director of operations and franchise at Brass Monkey Hospitality. “With Hey Tiger, we also wanted to create a restaurant where the food feels genuinely rooted in the cultures and techniques that inspired it.
The culinary programme at Hey Tiger will be led by Prabin Tamang, whose background includes roles at Dubai’s Mimi Kakushi and OKKU. He is joined by a team drawn from some of the city’s most recognisable restaurants, bringing experience across Japanese, Korean, Chinese and broader East Asian cuisine.
A key part of the experience is the Korean barbecue offering, where dedicated tabletop grills allow guests to cook premium cuts and marinated meats directly at the table in a highly interactive, social setting.
Complementing the food offering is a beverage programme built around Asian-inspired cocktails, crisp highballs, sake, soju, someak and late-night energy, paired with a music direction that evolves throughout the evening.
“At Hey Tiger, we wanted to create something that feels immersive from the moment guests arrive,” adds Simon. “Open kitchens, music, movement, conversation and a strong sense of atmosphere all working together around the food.
“The kitchen team comes from some of the most respected Asian restaurants in Dubai and brings an incredible level of experience and authenticity to the concept. At the same time, we wanted the pricing to feel honest and accessible, somewhere guests can return to regularly for dinner, drinks or a night out, rather than saving it only for special occasions.”
The opening of the new Motor City destination forms part of the wider growth trajectory of Brass Monkey Hospitality as the group continues expanding its portfolio across the GCC, with additional Brass Monkey locations planned for Galleria Mall Abu Dhabi and Bahrain Harbour Financial District.
