Germany 2026: Culture in Motion

From riverfront fireworks and castle festivals to digital art museums, new hotel openings and smoother airport connections, Germany is gearing up for a landmark year in 2026. Milestone anniversaries, world-renowned festivals, design highlights and family-friendly attractions will bring colour and energy to cities, lakes and mountain landscapes across the country. Blending innovation with centuries-old traditions, Germany will offer travellers from the GCC a rich mix of culture, live experiences, wellbeing escapes and premium hospitality – an inviting line-up of stories, angles and journeys to discover throughout the year.

A Fair to Remember

Springtime in Hamburg comes with a thrilling highlight. From 20 March to 19 April 2026, the Hamburg DOM – northern Germany’s largest funfair – takes over the city. Experience classic fairground rides and nostalgic attractions set against a vibrant backdrop. Beer reflects Hamburg’s maritime roots, with cult local brews like Astra and Hamburg-born Holsten. For a true taste of the city, grab an iconic Fischbrotchen, alongside funfair staples such as Currywurst and Bratwurst. With spectacular fireworks every Friday night, it’s the perfect recipe for a fun, easygoing city break that captures Hamburg’s spirit.

Munich Spring Festival

Often called Oktoberfest’s little sister, Munich’s Spring Festival (Fruhlingsfest) offers a more relaxed way to experience Bavaria’s festival spirit on the Theresienwiese. From 17 April to 10 May 2026, this much loved event brings together lively beer tents, colourful fairground rides and over 100 stalls serving Bavarian favourites - think giant pretzels, roast chicken and hearty festival snacks. With family days, live music and sparkling evening fireworks, it’s a gentle, feel good celebration that welcomes spring to Munich in true Bavarian style.
