Hotels across the world are no longer just places to stay; they have become art galleries, collaborating with both local and renowned international artists to curate beautiful pieces of artwork that encapsulate the aesthetic of each hotel. From gorgeous interiors at Cheval Blanc Seychelles and Royal Mansour Casablanca’s art deco transformation, these two luxurious properties are seamlessly blending world-class hospitality with immersive cultural experiences.
With one of the richest collections of Art Deco architecture in North Africa, Casablanca offers a visual feast for lovers of design and history. Perfectly placed near many of Casablanca’s most iconic landmarks, Royal Mansour Casablanca offers the best of both worlds: cultural discovery and refined indulgence.
Opened in April 2024 under the patronage of King Mohammed VI, the hotel is a tribute to the city’s golden era, reimagined with contemporary sophistication. The interiors are a masterclass in Art Deco glamour, as the rich palettes of mustard, olive, burnt orange, and ash grey set the stage for over 600 works of art. A highlight is the monumental lobby artwork by Charles Kalpakian: a stylised aerial map of Casablanca crafted from glass, mirror, brass, and copper. This piece blends contemporary artisanal marquetry with the sleek lines of the 1930s, setting the tone for the hotel’s design journey.
Casablanca’s own story adds another layer of allure. In the early 20th century, the city emerged as a major trade and business hub, its port linking Europe, Africa, and the Americas. By the 1920s, it had become a vibrant melting pot of commerce, culture, and design. Today, it remains Morocco’s economic powerhouse and a leading African financial centre through initiatives like Casablanca Finance City, attracting global investment while preserving its rich architectural heritage.
Royal Mansour Casablanca reflects this dual spirit, rooted in history, yet forward-looking. Alongside its elegant accommodations, the hotel offers award-winning gastronomy and a world-class spa. Dining on the 23rd floor delivers sweeping views of the city and Atlantic, from the Hassan II Mosque to the distant horizon. The Spa spans two serene floors, blending Moroccan hammam traditions with cutting-edge wellness treatments.
A finalist for the “Virtuoso Best New or Reimagined Hotel Award”, Royal Mansour Casablanca has quickly established itself as one of the most prestigious addresses in the city and in Morocco. For travellers seeking authenticity, beauty, and luxury in the heart of an Art Deco capital, there is no better place to be.
