This September, Shangri-La Hotels will present an extraordinary prelude to its highly anticipated Taste of Shangri-La celebration with a rare 8-hands dinner series hosted across four Shang Palace locations, the group’s signature Chinese dining brand. The series will showcase the artistry of four of Shangri-La’s master chefs of Chinese cuisine and from September 18th to 30th, guests are invited to embark on a gastronomic journey at Shang Palace locations in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Istanbul, and Jeddah, for a one of a kind eight course set menu. Each dish will tell its own story, from the roots of Chinese culinary traditions to bold contemporary interpretations, in an intimate dining experience designed to linger long after the final bite.

Taste of Shangri-La 2025 – Exclusive 8-Hands Culinary Journey

The series will feature the combined talents of Chef Peter Lau Chee Wei of Shangri-La Dubai, celebrated for blending Cantonese, Teochew, Malaysian, and Singaporean flavours into visually striking creations; Chef Qiguo Su of Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi, a Sichuan specialist whose artistry shines in refined signatures such as Peking Duck; Chef Cheng Lu of Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul, whose three decades of expertise are reflected in delicate dim sum and unforgettable seafood dishes; and Chef Sky Wong Kum Choy of Shangri-La Jeddah, a pioneer of modern Chinese cuisine known for his ability to layer authentic techniques with global influences. Together, the four chefs will craft a menu that highlights signature creations including King Crab with Caviar, Spinach, and Shredded Tofu Broth Soup, Wok-Fried Wagyu Beef Striploin with Garlic, and Wok-Fried Boston Lobster with Egg Yolk. The series will open in Dubai from September 18th to 20th, continue to Abu Dhabi on September 22nd and 23rd, move to Istanbul from September 25th to 27th, and conclude in Jeddah on September 29th and 30th. Each city will offer its own unique setting, but the experience will be unified by the chefs’ shared passion for excellence and their ability to reimagine Chinese cuisine for today’s most discerning diners. With limited seating, the dinners promise to be exclusive, immersive, and truly memorable. These exquisite 8-course menus will be exclusively served by 8-hands across four participating cities, at Shang Palace restaurants the home of authentic and masterfully crafted Chinese cuisine. This special series sets the stage for Taste of Shangri-La, a month-long culinary celebration taking place across Shangri-La hotels in the Middle East, Europe, the United Kingdom, India, and the Americas throughout October 2025. Guests can expect inspired tasting menus, signature dishes, and remarkable dining experiences at some of Shangri-La’s most celebrated restaurants. The 8-hands dinner offers an early opportunity to savour the creative spirit behind Taste of Shangri-La and to be part of an extraordinary milestone in Shangri-La’s global culinary journey.
