Morocco is a destination where dramatic coastlines, historic cities, mountain roads, and colorful old towns can all become part of a single road trip. In this video, Motor 283 joins Hyundai for an adventure covering around 1,200 kilometers, starting in Casablanca and traveling through Rabat and Tangier before reaching the famous blue streets of Chefchaouen. With the Hyundai Santa Fe and Tucson taking on different parts of the journey, the trip combines driving, sightseeing, culture, and some of Morocco's most photogenic landscapes.
The journey begins in Casablanca with a visit to Hassan II Mosque, one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. Rising beside the Atlantic Ocean, the mosque creates a spectacular starting point before the road trip heads north toward Morocco's capital, Rabat.
Once in Rabat, the journey turns toward history with a visit to Hassan Tower and the nearby Mausoleum of Mohammed V. The exploration continues at the Kasbah of the Udayas, where narrow streets and traditional architecture lead to impressive views over the surrounding landscape. Between historic markets, Moroccan sweets, and centuries-old landmarks, Rabat provides a taste of the country's heritage before the journey returns to the road.
The Hyundai Santa Fe plays an important role during this part of the adventure. Its spacious cabin and luggage capacity suit the demands of a multi-day journey, while its comfort, technology, driver assistance systems, and fuel efficiency make covering long distances more enjoyable.
Leaving Rabat behind, the adventure continues toward Tangier along roads that reveal another side of Morocco. One of the standout stops is Cape Spartel, where travelers can experience the dramatic setting associated with the meeting of the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea, with Spain visible across the water on clear days.
The second day takes the journey from Tangier toward Chefchaouen, this time aboard the Hyundai Tucson. The drive passes through mountainous scenery and includes a stop at Nakhla Dam, where water and green landscapes create a striking panoramic view.
The winding roads toward Chefchaouen also provide an opportunity to experience the Tucson during a longer drive. Its hybrid powertrain, comfortable interior, practical space, technology, and relaxed driving character complement a route where enjoying the scenery is just as important as reaching the next destination.
Arriving in Chefchaouen delivers one of the visual highlights of the entire 1,200 kilometer adventure. Famous for its blue painted streets and buildings, the city offers a completely different atmosphere from the coastal destinations visited earlier in the journey.
Walking through the old town reveals traditional markets, Moroccan crafts, historic architecture, and picturesque alleys covered in different shades of blue. The journey also reaches Outa El Hammam, one of the city's best known gathering places, surrounded by the distinctive character that has helped turn Chefchaouen into an internationally recognized travel destination.
Combined with the surrounding Rif Mountains and panoramic views, the blue city provides a memorable conclusion to an adventure that demonstrates just how much variety travelers can experience while exploring Morocco by car.
