The race saw a fierce battle between some of the biggest names in cycling. Tom Pidcock, leading his new team Q36.5, was determined to dominate early in the season. However, he faced strong competition from elite climbers like Eddie Dunbar and Jonas Abrahamsen, who showcased their exceptional skills on the steepest ascents.

On the sprint-friendly stages, speed specialists Tim Merlier, Fabio Jakobsen, Dylan Groenewegen, and Arvid de Kleijn delivered electrifying performances, using the fast sections to their advantage.

As the race progressed, it became evident that the overall winner needed a perfect blend of endurance, speed, and tactical intelligence—a trait highlighted by Race Director Jean-Marc Marino, who predicted a climber skilled in crosswinds would emerge victorious.
