On Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th November, international auction house, FutureGrail, presents some of the world’s rarest watches at the Bvlgari Yacht Club, Dubai.
The special luxury preview event grants prospective buyers with the opportunity to discover iconic items that will be auctioned across two online sessions (8th-14th November and 15th-21st November). FutureGrail’s in-house horologists will provide expert insight into each masterpiece, in the sophisticated library located on the upper level of the exclusive yacht club lounge.
The auction features extraordinary timepieces, from modern contemporary independents to vintage classic treasures. It includes Lot No. 147, a 1942 Rolex Antimagnetique Reference 4113, one of the rarest watches to go up for auction this decade. The price estimate ranges from US$1.5 million to US$3 million+.
Guests attending the Bvlgari Yacht Club preview will also see rare Patek Philippe treasures. Lot No.152, an extremely rare 1960 Patek Philippe vintage Calatrava (Ref. 2585A) is one of only three known examples in existence (one of which is within the Patek Philippe museum collection). Lot No.153 is called the ‘Venus of Love’, a unique 1964 gilded brass and cloisonné polychrome enamel Dome desk-clock, or Pendule Dôme, which is solar powered and decorated with Italian Renaissance panels by Michel Deville. Lot No. 151 features the only known example of a Patek Philippe Reference 96 in platinum with a salmon dial, elegantly embellished with diamond hour markers – starting bids will commence at US$80,000.
One item is sure to generate interest among Dubai’s large Lebanese diaspora, a watch by F.P. Journe that was created to commemorate the opening of the brand’s 10th boutique in Beirut, Lebanon in 2014. Only 99 Chronomètre Bleu ‘Byblos’ pieces were ever made, honouring the ancient Lebanese coastal port, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities.
More than 20 luxury timepiece manufacturers will be represented across the FutureGrail November auctions.
