This summer, IKEA is celebrating the vibrant culinary heritage of the Levant at its restaurants, available from August 6 to August 11. The Levantine-themed cuisine days will feature a menu exclusively crafted by IKEA’s Chef Abderrahim Lhnnaoui, showcasing traditional favorites thoughtfully prepared to highlight the essence of Levantine flavors.
Levantine cuisine embodies the rich culinary traditions of the Eastern Mediterranean, drawing inspiration from the vibrant flavours and heritage of countries such as Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, and parts of Turkey.
Acclaimed chef Rita Soueidan will also join the celebration to share her insights into Levantine cuisine, its history, and cultural significance. Customers are further invited to enjoy Chef Rita’s signature cold mezze plate, available for purchase in the restaurant.
The Levantine-themed menu features popular national dishes. Begin your meal with a comforting bowl of chicken, vegetables or wheat soup, priced at just AED 9. Choose your favourite Levantine starters from the salad bar or indulge in a cold mezzeh platter ranging from just AED 9 to AED 12. Then, savour mouthwatering mains, including lemon chicken with potatoes, chicken mussakhan, kofta bi tahina, salmon babaghanoush, lamb shank mansaf, and tomato burghul, all priced between AED 25 to AED 49. No meal is complete without a sweet treat: end on a high note with creamy pistachio muhalabiya and Kunafa.
Sumit Sachedva, Head of Food at IKEA, UAE, Qatar, Oman and Egypt, said: “This initiative allows us to continue to honor our Levantine community and express our deep appreciation for its culture. Through this special celebration, we aim to bring authentic Levantine cuisine to all our guests. Food has always united people, and at IKEA, we embrace our role in sharing diverse cuisines and creating a sense of celebration and connection among our customers from around the world.”
Chef Abderrahim Lhnnaoui, Regional Executive Chef at IKEA, added: “Designing this Levantine menu has been an incredible journey of bringing together the region’s most beloved flavours. Our goal was to create a menu that reflects the authenticity of Levantine cuisine while making it accessible to everyone. We hope our customers enjoy these dishes as much as we enjoyed crafting them”.
IKEA invites all foodies to join this cultural celebration and indulge in the limited-time menu, available daily from 11:30 A.M. until 9:30 P.M. at Dubai Jebel Ali Festival Plaza, Dubai Festival City, and YAS Island Abu Dhabi.
