Compared with conventional tires, the company reports up to 18 percent less road noise, creating a quieter cabin where tire sound becomes much more noticeable without a traditional gasoline engine. Engineers also increased tread life by 15 percent through a structure designed to better withstand the extra weight of large battery packs and the instant torque produced by electric motors.

The tires also deliver a 10 percent improvement in driving stability, helping drivers enjoy more confidence during high speed cornering and everyday driving. Rolling resistance has also been reduced through a specialized low temperature compound curing process, allowing electric vehicles to extend driving range by as much as 6 percent on a single charge.

The performance of the iON family is supported by 58 patents developed under Hankook's iON Innovative Technology platform. One of the key features is Equalized Contact Technology, which helps maintain a consistent contact patch between the tire and the road under different driving conditions. This improves efficiency while promoting more even wear throughout the tire's lifespan.

Another important innovation is Opti Cure Technology, which minimizes uneven tread wear and helps preserve long term performance. Hankook also offers multiple versions of the iON lineup to suit different electric vehicles. The iON evo AS and iON evo AS SUV are designed for everyday sedan and SUV driving throughout the year. The iON evo summer tire targets high performance electric sports cars with enhanced grip at higher speeds. The iON HT is built specifically for electric pickup trucks with a reinforced shoulder design that supports heavy loads and demanding work environments. For colder climates, the iON i cept and Nordic ice series provide outstanding traction on snow and ice, including studded versions for maximum winter capability.
