The 2027 Tucson grows by 60 millimeters in overall length to around 4.7 meters, while the wheelbase increases by 30 millimeters to 2,785 millimeters. The extra length should provide more cabin space while also giving the SUV a more substantial stance.

Width increases by 40 millimeters to 1,905 millimeters, while overall height grows by 20 millimeters. Rear passengers benefit from an additional 29 millimeters of headroom, making the second row more comfortable for taller occupants.

Hyundai has also improved access to the rear seats. The rear doors can now open to an angle of 83 degrees, which is 10 degrees wider than before and should make getting in and out easier.

Visually, the Tucson moves toward a more upright and rugged shape. Sharp body lines and squared proportions replace much of the flowing styling of the previous generation.

A new illuminated H shaped lighting signature stretches across the front and rear, giving the Tucson a distinctive appearance both during the day and at night.

The longer wheelbase gives Hyundai more room to improve passenger comfort, especially in the second row. Combined with the increased roof height, the new proportions create a more open cabin and provide additional space for longer journeys.

The wider body should also improve shoulder room, while the larger door openings make the Tucson easier to use for families, passengers carrying bags or anyone frequently loading the rear seats.

Hyundai has not yet revealed complete cargo capacity figures, but the larger exterior dimensions suggest that practicality will remain one of the Tucson's main strengths.

The more upright shape also gives the SUV a stronger visual connection to larger and more rugged models, helping the Tucson feel less like a traditional compact crossover and more like a proper SUV.

Hyundai has completely redesigned the dashboard around its new Pleos infotainment system. The centerpiece is expected to be a large touchscreen measuring as much as 17 inches.

Despite the larger digital interface, Hyundai has kept physical controls for essential functions. This should make common adjustments easier while driving without requiring the driver to navigate through several touchscreen menus.

A slim digital instrument display sits higher on the dashboard and closer to the driver's natural line of sight. This layout is designed to make important driving information easier to read while keeping the cabin visually clean.

The interior also introduces more premium materials, including perforated upholstery, wood inspired trim and warm ambient lighting. Together, these details give the new Tucson a more refined atmosphere than the outgoing model.

Hyundai has not yet released the complete technical specifications for the new Tucson's engines. More details are expected later in 2026 before the SUV first reaches the Korean market.

Global sales are expected to begin during 2027, although timing may vary depending on the market.

The lineup is also expected to expand beyond the standard models. An XRT version should add a more adventurous design and additional equipment for drivers interested in light off road use.

A sportier N Line version is also expected to join the range, giving customers a more aggressive appearance and a stronger performance inspired character.

With larger dimensions, a completely new design and a more advanced cabin, the 2027 Hyundai Tucson represents much more than a simple facelift. It marks a significant change in direction for one of Hyundai's most important compact SUVs.
