Jetour is preparing to expand its rugged SUV family with the new T8, also known as the Traveller 8 in China. Revealed at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, the large SUV will sit above the T1 and T2 as the flagship of the Traveller family.
The T8 combines a boxy design, three row practicality, electrified power and a new generation of intelligent off road technology. Jetour says the model measures more than five metres long with a wheelbase approaching three metres, while its Chinese market launch is expected during the first half of 2027.
Jetour describes the T8 using its 532 flagship proportions, referring to a body measuring more than five metres long, around two metres wide and with a wheelbase close to three metres.
That makes it substantially larger than the T2 and gives Jetour enough space to focus more heavily on passenger comfort and family travel.
A three row cabin is expected, with seven seat configurations likely to be offered in some markets. The extra size should also provide more useful luggage space when travelling with several passengers.
The T8 keeps the upright and boxy styling associated with Jetour adventure SUVs but gives the formula a more premium appearance.
Its front features a wide lighting signature, prominent Jetour branding and large rectangular lighting elements. Squared wheel arches, straight body lines, large wheels and a tall glass area reinforce its rugged character.
At the rear, vertical lighting and an external spare wheel style enclosure complete the adventure focused look. Jetour has also displayed the SUV in a distinctive matt gold finish inspired by the colors of sunlight over Namcha Barwa.
Jetour has confirmed one of the most interesting figures for the upcoming T8 before revealing its complete production powertrain specifications.
The Traveller 8 is targeting more than 300 kilometres of electric range under the Chinese CLTC cycle. Combined driving range is expected to exceed 1,300 kilometres when the combustion engine and electric system work together.
A plug in hybrid powertrain is expected to play a major role in the range, while additional petrol versions have also been linked to the model. Final engine outputs, battery capacities and performance figures have not yet been officially confirmed.
The long electric range could make the T8 practical for everyday commuting while retaining the flexibility of petrol power for longer family road trips.
The T8 will introduce a new generation of Jetour off road technology built around the XWD intelligent all wheel drive system.
Jetour has also confirmed AI terrain recognition, allowing the vehicle to identify different surfaces and automatically adapt its settings. An off road NOA assistance system is also planned.
Other technology associated with the model includes intelligent terrain control and assistance designed to make demanding surfaces easier for less experienced drivers.
This positions the T8 as a versatile travel SUV rather than a dedicated extreme off road machine, giving it a balance between city driving, highway comfort, camping trips and moderate trail use.
