Lotus has introduced the new Emira 420 Sport to the Middle East, placing it at the top of the Model Year 2027 Emira range. The new flagship brings more power, lower weight and sharper aerodynamics while still aiming to remain usable on regular roads.

In the UAE, AGMC will represent the model as the official distributor for Lotus Cars. Lotus also claims that the Emira 420 Sport is the fastest four cylinder production car in the world, with a top speed of 300 kmh.

Flagship Four Cylinder Performance

Flagship Four Cylinder Performance

The Emira 420 Sport is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine producing 416 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels through an eight speed dual clutch automatic transmission.

Lotus has also revised the transmission calibration to deliver faster and more intuitive gear changes. The result is zero to 100 kmh in 3.9 seconds, while zero to 200 kmh takes 12.47 seconds.

The car completes the standing quarter mile in 11.91 seconds and accelerates from 80 to 120 kmh in 2.4 seconds. Its claimed top speed of 300 kmh is what gives Lotus its headline claim as the fastest four cylinder production car.

Sharper Chassis and Lower Weight

Sharper Chassis and Lower Weight

The Emira 420 Sport sits 5 millimeters lower than the standard Emira and uses a dedicated sports chassis. Lotus has revised the suspension geometry to improve steering feedback, cornering response and overall body control.

Customers can also choose the optional Lotus Lightweight Handling Pack. It adds Multimatic two way adjustable dampers, allowing compression and rebound settings to be adjusted independently.

The package also includes a lithium ion battery, titanium exhaust, carbon fiber tailgate, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and the Lotus Track Pro app. Together, these upgrades reduce weight by up to 25 kilograms.

The titanium exhaust saves around 9 kilograms on its own, while the carbon fiber tailgate removes around 4.9 kilograms from the upper section of the car.

Aerodynamics Built for Higher Speeds

Aerodynamics Built for Higher Speeds

Lotus has made several changes to improve stability at higher speeds. The Emira 420 Sport gains a redesigned front splitter, new bumper inserts, wheel arch vents, extended side skirts, larger side air intakes and a larger rear lip spoiler.

According to Lotus, these changes generate an additional 25 kilograms of downforce compared with the standard Emira without increasing aerodynamic drag.

Cooling has also been improved for more demanding driving. Airflow reaching the radiators has increased by 15 percent, while airflow through the exhaust valve area has risen by 30 percent.

A dedicated track configuration can provide additional cooling for the central radiator and front brakes, making the car better suited to extended circuit use.

The 420 Sport is the first Emira offered with exposed exterior carbon fiber components. The optional Carbon Fiber Pack applies the material to the front splitter, wheel arch vents, side skirts, side intakes, rear lip spoiler and rear diffuser surround.

Lotus has introduced the model in a new Tangelo Orange launch color. It also comes with 20 inch forged alloy wheels finished in satin dark grey, along with dark tinted rear lights.

Inside, the cabin combines black Nappa leather with perforated Alcantara. An optional Tangelo Orange interior theme adds orange leather accents and matching stitching.

Carbon fiber gearshift paddles and dedicated 420 Sport treadplates are fitted as standard. An additional Interior Carbon Fiber Pack adds carbon finishes to the steering wheel spokes, driver display surround and seat back sections.

Lotus Emira 420 Sport in the UAE

The Emira 420 Sport will sit above the Emira Turbo, Emira Turbo SE and Emira V6 SE in the Model Year 2027 range.

Lotus is also introducing a removable tinted glass roof panel across the wider Emira lineup, giving buyers another personalization option.

AGMC has confirmed that the new model is coming to the UAE, but local pricing, ordering information and first customer delivery dates have not yet been announced.

With 416 bhp, a 300 kmh top speed, lower weight and more aggressive aerodynamics, the Emira 420 Sport becomes the most focused version of the Emira yet. It also gives Lotus a stronger flagship offering for performance car buyers in the UAE.
