Mercedes AMG is entering a new electric performance era with the new GT 4 Door Coupe, a high power sports sedan built on the AMG.EA architecture. Instead of simply chasing silent electric speed, AMG is shaping this model around emotion, endurance, and driver involvement. With up to 1169 hp, three axial flux motors, a Formula 1 inspired battery, and a V8 style driving experience, this new 4 Door Coupe aims to prove that electric performance can still feel intense, dramatic, and unmistakably AMG.
Using three advanced axial flux motors, the new Mercedes AMG GT 4 Door Coupe delivers performance figures that place it among the most extreme electric sports cars in the world. The AMG GT 63 4 Door Coupe produces up to 1169 hp and 2000 Nm of torque, while the AMG GT 55 4 Door Coupe produces 816 hp and 1800 Nm of torque.
Pushing acceleration to supercar levels, the GT 63 reaches 100 kmh in 2.4 seconds, while the GT 55 completes the same sprint in 2.8 seconds. Both versions can reach 300 kmh with the optional Drivers Package, giving this electric Mercedes the speed expected from a true AMG flagship.
Supporting this performance, Mercedes AMG uses a fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC Plus all wheel drive system. This setup distributes power between the front and rear axles while also managing torque between the rear wheels, helping the car deliver traction, stability, and playful handling when the driver wants more excitement.
Delivering more than just huge power, the new Mercedes AMG GT 4 Door Coupe brings serious long distance usability through an 800 volt battery system. With a 106 kWh net battery capacity and up to 600 kW DC charging capability, the car can add more than 460 km of WLTP range in just 10 minutes when connected to suitable charging infrastructure.
Completing a 10 to 80 percent charge takes only 11 minutes, making the car far more practical for road trips than many traditional high performance EVs. Mercedes AMG also developed direct cooling for the cylindrical battery cells, helping the system maintain strong performance under repeated acceleration, fast charging, and demanding driving conditions.
Offering impressive range, the AMG GT 63 delivers up to 696 km WLTP, while the AMG GT 55 reaches up to 700 km WLTP. This makes the new model more than a quick launch machine, as it is designed to sustain performance over long distances.
Keeping the emotional side alive, Mercedes AMG created AMGFORCE S Plus, a special driving mode that delivers an immersive V8 inspired sound and feel. Instead of offering a basic artificial soundtrack, the system uses a detailed sound experience with simulated gear changes, haptic feedback, and a dedicated driver display that brings back some of the drama associated with traditional AMG V8 performance.
Improving handling, the car comes with AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension, semi active roll stabilization, active rear axle steering, and active AEROKINETICS technology. The aerodynamic system includes active underbody elements, an active rear diffuser, and an active rear spoiler that adjust to improve downforce, stability, and efficiency.
Inside, the cabin combines sports car focus with grand tourer comfort. A driver oriented cockpit, AMG RACE ENGINEER rotary controls, MBUX software, AI powered assistance, sport seats, and a panoramic SKY CONTROL roof create a futuristic yet luxurious atmosphere. With production planned at the Sindelfingen plant in summer 2026, the new Mercedes AMG GT 4 Door Coupe marks one of the brand’s boldest steps into the electric performance future.
