McMurtry Speirling Pure Defies Physics With Electric Power

Electric performance is entering a wild new chapter with the production version of the McMurtry Spéirling Pure. Built exclusively for the track, this compact electric machine combines extreme power with one of the most unusual aerodynamic systems ever fitted to a modern performance car. McMurtry plans to begin customer deliveries in late 2026, with production limited to only 100 examples worldwide and a target price of £995,000, which is more than $1.3 million.

Ground Effect Fan Technology

The McMurtry Spéirling Pure approaches aerodynamics differently from traditional supercars. Instead of depending mainly on large wings and high speed airflow to push the car toward the track, it uses powerful fans beneath the body to create suction through an advanced ground effect system.

This technology allows the Spéirling Pure to generate an incredible 4,400 pounds of downforce even at zero miles per hour. That means the car can produce massive grip before it even starts moving, giving the tires immediate contact with the track and allowing the electric machine to launch with extraordinary force.

The system also creates one of the most fascinating theoretical possibilities in automotive engineering. With the right conditions and enough speed, the Spéirling Pure could theoretically generate enough downforce to drive upside down along the roof of a tunnel. For drivers on a real circuit, the more important result is immediate grip, greater cornering confidence, and performance that does not depend entirely on speed to activate its aerodynamic advantage.

Extreme Electric Performance

The Spéirling Pure combines its powerful fan system with an electric powertrain producing more than 1,000 horsepower. With a weight of only 2,860 pounds, the car achieves an exceptional power to weight ratio that translates directly into remarkable acceleration and cornering ability.

McMurtry claims the car can accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 1.55 seconds and reach a top speed of 190 miles per hour. More impressively, it can generate lateral cornering forces of up to 3g, placing extraordinary physical demands on the driver while giving the car serious track potential.

Despite its compact dimensions, McMurtry has designed the cockpit to accommodate drivers up to 6 feet 5 inches tall. The car has also been approved for different racing series and track programs across the United States and Europe, while optional factory support will be available for customers interested in competitive driving.

Track Battery Performance

McMurtry equips the Spéirling Pure with a 100 kWh battery pack designed around demanding circuit use rather than ordinary road driving. The battery can support around 20 minutes of continuous performance at a pace comparable to GT3 racing cars without a drop in efficiency.

Once the battery is depleted, a 355 kW charger can prepare the car to return to the circuit in only 25 minutes. This combination of extreme performance, rapid charging, and factory supported racing opportunities gives the Spéirling Pure a clear purpose. It is designed as a serious electric track machine for a very small group of owners seeking one of the most intense driving experiences available in 2026.
