Driving Continuous Advancement of Safety Capabilities through Public Verification, CHERY Guards Global Family Mobility

  • How does CHERY’s composite crash test prove the TIGGO 9’s real-world safety strength?

During the Auto China & CHERY International Business Summit, CHERY, the leading Chinese automotive exporter for twenty-two years in a row, conducted a public three-vehicle composite crash verification.

CHERY Showcases Real-World Safety Performance Through Composite Crash Verification

CHERY Showcases Real-World Safety Performance Through Composite Crash Verification

As a public test targeting high-risk real road scenarios, this verification not only demonstrated the safety performance of the TIGGO 9 under complex working conditions, but also reflected CHERY's continuous investment in family travel safety.

For users, the significance of this verification is far more than just a test result. It embodies CHERY’s ongoing commitment to promoting the continuous advancement of product safety capabilities with standards that are closer to real risks, bringing more reliable protection to global family users, and further turning the "For Family" brand proposition from a value claim into a perceptible, trustworthy real protection.

This test was designed around composite risk scenarios in real roads: while the TIGGO 9 endured a 50% overlap offset crash from the TIGGO 7 at 50 km/h from the front, its rear also endured a 100% overlap full-width rear-end crash from a barrier vehicle at 40 km/h. Compared with single crash tests, this working condition of simultaneous front and rear impacts and superimposed different force paths is closer to the complex accident scenarios that users may encounter in actual travel. It also puts forward higher requirements for the vehicle's structural safety, occupant protection and post-crash emergency response capabilities.

The public verification results show that the TIGGO 9 maintained stable and reliable comprehensive protection performance under the composite crash conditions: The passenger compartment structure remained intact, with no obvious deformation of the pillars, preserving sufficient survival space. Airbags deployed normally, and seatbelts worked effectively. The doors automatically unlocked and could be opened normally, the fuel system had no leakage, and the warning lights worked properly.

These results prove that even under more complex, real-risk-close working conditions, the TIGGO 9 can still provide effective protection for the people inside the vehicle. For family users, such safety is not just a capability listed on the parameter sheet, but the product strength that can truly provide protection at critical moments.

Reinforcing the relevance of these safety advancements at a regional level, Zaher Sabbagh, Director of Chery UAE, part of AWR Automotive, commented: “Safety is a fundamental priority for families in the UAE, and this public verification reflects CHERY’s commitment to delivering real-world protection, not just theoretical performance. The TIGGO 9, which is already available in the UAE market, embodies this philosophy by combining advanced safety engineering with everyday usability. It gives our customers the confidence that their vehicle is designed to protect them in the moments that matter most.”

The value of the public verification at Auto China & CHERY International Business Summit is not limited to the single TIGGO 9 model. It further reflects CHERY's continuous accumulation in the R&D, testing and verification system of vehicle safety. By introducing more stringent verification methods that are closer to the real road environment into product safety development, CHERY is promoting safety capabilities from the laboratory to real scenarios, and continuously precipitating them into subsequent products and the entire family product system. For global users, this means that what they will perceive in the future is not just this public test itself, but CHERY's long-term efforts to continuously translate higher safety standards into product capabilities.

For a long time, CHERY has continuously promoted the construction of a global safety system, and has obtained authoritative Global Five-Star Safety certifications including E-NCAP, ANCAP and ASEAN NCAP.

The completion of the three-vehicle composite crash public verification by the TIGGO 9 further demonstrates CHERY's safety philosophy of testing safety with real scenarios and polishing products with higher standards. With the continuous improvement of the safety R&D, testing and verification system, CHERY will also promote higher-level, more full-scenario, more reliable safety protection capabilities to cover more products and more markets, allowing global family users to feel a more consistent and more reassuring travel protection.

In the future, CHERY will continue to focus on the real travel needs of global family users, improving safety technologies and verification standards, truly reflecting the "For Family" commitment into every product, and bringing a more reassuring and reliable travel experience to global families.
